ABSTRACT

This paper presents a Cuk’s dc – dc converter mathematical analysis and simulation. The circuit is analysed based on two modes of operation namely: continuous current conduction mode and discontinuous current conduction mode. The voltage ratio versus duty cycle and voltage ratio versus load per frequency inductance ratio under the variation of duty cycle are plotted. MATLAB/SIMULINK software is used to carry out the circuit simulation under the two modes of operation which aided in verifying the calculated results. Simulation waveforms are displayed under both current conduction modes. The results obtained are very similar which confirm the mathematical analysis of the circuit configuration.
