ABSTRACT

This research work “Design and implementation of a Microcontroller-based digital filter “is aimed at designing and Implementing the single pole low pass, high pass and band pass filter using PIC Microcontroller. The system derived was modeled and simulated with the aid of MATLAB 7.5. The work involved the design and implementation of digital filters in the frequency domain, using a user-friendly based working environment on a MATLAB platform. Here, the required system equations and expressions were incorporated into the program code and operational flowcharts were designed for the sequential lines of code. The codes were written in MATLAB 7.5, thereby deriving the m-file that constituted the system. Secondly, a low-level program (assembly language) is used to program the PIC Microcontroller to implement the filtering task. The microcontroller processes an Audio signal and output a digitally filtered audio and visual output using speakers and LCD.The research work thereafter, serves as a training kits for both lecturers and students.
