ABSTRACT

This work focuses on analysis of circular loop antenna using elliptical loop antenna as radiation source. By using method of moments computational procedure, the excitation current associated with the radiated fields of circular loop antenna is determined by first invoking necessary condition in the impedance matrix of elliptical loop antenna and thereafter multiplying it with voltage matrix. The radiated fields of circular loop antenna emerge by reducing eccentricity of elliptical loop antenna to zero or making length of semi major axis and semi minor axis similar and therefore are shown to be derivable or recoverable from representative equations describing radiated fields of elliptical loop. Analytical expressions so derived when compared with those found in the open literature agree quite well and lend credence to the formulation presented here.
