ABSTRACT
A semi-mechanized citrus juice
extractor was designed, fabricated and tested. Results showed that the
extraction efficiency and throughput capacity of the machine increased with the
expression pressure. Maximum extraction
efficiency of 87% was obtained when the expression pressure was 120N/mm2,
while a maximum throughput capacity of 0.16L/s was obtained at 120N/mm2 expression
pressure. The estimated cost of the machine is N30, 000.
