ABSTRACT

Microbial desulphurisation of crude oil using Aspergillus niger was studied and optimised using a three-variable, three-level Box-Behnken design (BBD) combined with response surface methodology (RSM). A statistical model was developed from the experimental design to determine the effect of spore volume, nitrogen and phosphorus supplementation on the degree of desulphurisation.
