This paper focuses on the reduction of crossover
distortion in class-B amplifier. In this paper, a negative feedback was applied
to control the output signal by taking a fraction of the amplifier output back
to the input. The high slew rate operational amplifier helped in inter-stage
amplification and frequency response application. The capacitor biased coupled
diode connects the electrolytic capacitor in parallel with diode to form boost
trap. Again, one of the transistors amplifies the positive half cycles of the
input signal and the second transistor amplifies the negative half cycle of the
input signal. These transistors supplied the amplified version of the input
signal to the load. At the output stage, the audio input was converted into
sound energy by the output transducer.
The results obtained in class B amplifier showed an audio music with a
laudable sound through the loud speaker, a peak current of 2.4A, a d.c. current
of 1.53A, a d. c. power of 36.72W, an output power of 28.8W and efficiency of
78.47%.
