ABSTRACT

The increase of factories and manufacturing companies in Nnewi has called for quality, reliable and stable power system in the zone.  Attempt is made in this work to analyze and identify different types of faults that occur on power distribution system, with a view to determining appropriate protection scheme for the distribution network in order to improve power reliability in Nnewi and environs using phase component method. The result identified different types of faults peculiar to respective load centers with the severest during three-phase fault and adequate recommendations proffered.
