ABSTRACT

This paper presents fuzzy logic-based quality of service for Ku-band satellite communication. The satellite communication forms an essential part of telecommunication systems which carries large amount of data and telephone traffic in addition to television signals. Ku-band is primarily used for satellite communication and broadcasting but it is more sensitive to rain fade. Data was obtained from DSTV Company for a period of 10 months which was simulated using MATLAB. Fuzzy logic system was proposed in this paper to guarantee a certain degree of signal quality.
