ABSTRACT

This paper presents the theoretical background of digital modulation and evaluate the performance of the 32-PSK system with respect to Bit Error Rate and finally implement a 32-ary Phase Shift Keying modulation technique in MATLAB. The key objective of any communication system is to obtain the transmitted data accurately. Many digital modulation techniques have thriven in the communications field, choosing a suitable modulation technique for an application depends on many factors like Bit error rate, data rate, design complexity etc. The BER for 32-PSK modulated signal is performed using MATLAB Graphical User Interface tool. The modulated signal is transmitted through an AWGN channel. The resultant noisy modulated signal is demodulated using the BPSK demodulation technique. An outright comparison was made and conclusions drawn after the various BER and Eb/No relationships were established. The complete system simulations are carried out in MATLAB R2015b.
