ABSTRACT

Aluminium billets of ratios (1.0476 and 1.0952) were extruded using oil extracts from eucalyptus, neemand mango seed as lubricants to measure the deformation stress and temperature variation. The results obtained showed that temperature of the process is not entirely dependent on stress but rather on the type of lubricant used. This is evidenced from the poor performance of eucalyptus oil in stress reduction but better performance than the other lubricants in terms of temperature reduction.Neem oil which exhibited a very good quality could be used with the addition of suitable additives to produce lubricant for extrusion of aluminium.
