ABSTRACT

Computing technologies are readily available to serve the need of mankind for innovative purposes. Over the years’ various control systems have been designed to prevent access to unauthorized user. The purpose of this research is to Design an automatic door opening/closing system to assist the physically challenged and as well as ease human labour in opening and closing door, especially when it has to do with the garage. With this system there will be no need of having to come down and open/closing the door before and after parking your car. This paper presents a methodology to rationalize the complexity of the software programs to interface with hardware devices, interact and to calculate the availability, functionality to serve the end user. This system helps to save time and provides convenience to the user, the openers also has an auto close feature, so the user does not need to close it after you enter the room. The system was first of all designed on paper, simulated using proteus interfaced with some assembly language program in MIDE. This was tasted with an animated door in simulation and it was proved to be functional.
